![]() While I could buy into the glamour of it all and I can appreciate the soundtrack and acting (Adam Driver can do no wrong in my eyes), I cannot get behind a film where the characters change their opinions and motives so quickly you could get whiplash. Arracht We Need to Talk About Kevin Nomadland Tick, Tick… BOOM! Spencer Analysing this film within the neo-western genre was a game-changer for me. I went into this viewing with a much different approach, my expectations were lowered and I was finally able to see what many others were able to enjoy first time around. Nomadland- I am so surprised to see this film in my top 5 for the month of November especially since in March it took the slot of most disappointing film of the month. It’s not really a story we haven’t seen before but the acting, cinematography and setting make it worth the watch in my opinion. ![]() In the wrong hands this film could have felt unnecessary but Tilda Swinton and a young Ezra Miller handle these characters delicately and hauntingly.Īrracht – I think this film was particularly refreshing because I cannot remember the last time an Irish spoken film was on the big screen. ![]() Despite the unsettling subject matter this is a captivating and powerful film about the mark that our parents leave on us and whether or not they should be responsible for all our future actions. The dark storyline was not eased on this second viewing. We Need to Talk About Kevin- This is such a heavy film and it holds a lot of power. Once again the music and acting are superb and made even better by such a beautiful glimpse into the mindset of an unnoticed talent. It is a story that all creatives can relate to, whether they are successful or not. This is a beautiful film about an extraordinarily talented man before his talent was acknowledged. Tick, Tick… BOOM! – I did not think much of this film based on its trailer and marketing, I thought it was just yet another film Netflix was pumping out to film content quotas. While I am sure that not everyone will enjoy this film I am positive that I personally will be excited for an inevitable rewatch someday. It is a psychological and moody film with an amazing score, cinematography and reinstalled my opinion that Kristen Stewart is a shamefully underrated actress. Spencer is not a film about the Royals it is a film about a woman who is trapped in her own miserable reality. ![]() As a fan of The Crown, I figured this would be a solid watch but this film exceeded all of my expectations and gave me a film I didn’t expect but was more than happy to receive. ![]()
